BANKING CHOICE CANADA

Editorial & comparison policy

How accounts are selected, ordered, sourced and updated, including the limitations of this comparison.

Selection and scope

This edition includes three online personal banking accounts with no monthly account fee. It is not a full-market comparison, a recommendation to switch or a list of the highest-paying products. Business accounts, loans, investment products and credit cards are outside the current comparison.

Ordering and criteria

Providers appear alphabetically. The comparison shows account type, monthly account fee, transaction features, card type and ATM arrangements. These fields make practical differences visible; they are not a scoring formula. Search and filters change which accounts are visible, not their ordering.

Sources and review date

Account information is taken from the linked official product pages, fee schedules and provider help pages. Each account overview includes its sources. The review date is the date we checked those sources; it is not a promise of real-time accuracy or a date automatically advanced when you visit.

Rates, promotions, minimum deposits and personal eligibility can change. We do not publish live rates or bonus amounts in this edition. A provider's current terms determine what it will offer you.

Editorial judgment

The “before choosing” notes highlight questions raised by account mechanics. They are general considerations, not a claim that an account is suitable for a particular person. We do not invent customer ratings, testing results, awards, approval rates or savings claims.

Corrections and updates

If information conflicts with a provider's page, rely on its current terms and report the disputed statement through the contact page using the published email address. Include the page, the statement, the official source and the date you noticed the issue. Do not include account details.
